Reagan’s 4 legged elephant landslide victory

Reagan was the best thing that happened to America in my lifetime. We are still reaping benefits from Reaganomics. McCain has been good at supporting laws against wasteful spending. He explained that his reason for being against the tax cuts was because controlling spending was not included in it. So, McCain is pretty good on that leg. McCain strongest leg is his military background and support of military strength. Moral values or social conservatism is the leg many values voters believe McCain is weakest on.

Reagan’s landslide win was due to his standing on the 4th leg of his elephant. He was a populist that believed “we the people” are the boss. He was against corporate greed and believed people should be paid decent wages. Reagan was able to woo moderate to conservative Democrats because of his strong moral values and populist attitude. Bush was also able to win by standing on those same 4 legs using his “passionate conservatism” form of populism. The difference between the two is Bush hasn’t been a hawk on excessive spending like he should have been.

People don’t have to buy into the global warming theory to want to have clean air or to try to find other forms of energy. We need to be able to be energy independent. Most Republicans realize we can drill new wells and build new refineries “environmentally friendly.” Huckabee could help in communicating that message. The more I study the Fair Tax; the more I like it. If Huckabee has the communication skills many of us believe he has; he might get the Fair Tax sold to McCain, the people, and Congress.

Obama is further to the left than any Democrat I can remember. I have had several Independents and Democrats tell me that if Huckabee is chosen as VP they will vote for McCain. My dad is one of those, “I was born a Democrat and I’ll die a Democrat.” Obama scares him. He is seriously thinking of voting for McCain if he chooses Huckabee; because of Huckabee’s pro-union populist stand. Both McCain and Huckabee have a history of reaching across party lines. If my diehard Democrat dad will vote for McCain if Huckabee is on the ticket; there is hope for others. We might be able to “save 08″ after all; because I believe McCain/Huckabee can win because of America’s history. If McCain is smart enough to choose Huckabee; we might even see that landslide victory again.

Whose Job is it This Child to Raise?

Mom was a poet. She always said, “Look what God gave me” when sharing them. Today I get to say, “Look what God gave me.” He and I wrote this yesterday.

Whose job is it this child to raise
To be an adult worthy of praise?
God’s plan is for the parents to train
And teach the child to use his brain.
The tools required are more than just a tongue
And must be started when the child is young.
We need to teach him from God’s Word
And pray he listens to what he’s heard.
We’re told to spank them when they disobey
That is showing love the Bible’s way.
We must teach them to behave and share.
The problem comes when parents don’t care.
Don’t plan to send them off to schools
Expecting teachers to teach the rules.
The teachers’ duty is to reinforce
The lessons begun in the parents’ course.
How your child turns out along the way
Depends on what you do today.

I am so thankful I had a godly mother that taught me to love God’s Word.

How Can We Cure Our Healthcare Crisis?

Someone I respect said, “We don’t have a health care crisis; we have a health crisis.” He believes Americans need to take personal responsibility by eating healthy and exercising more. Who? Me? But, you don’t understand my physical disabilities and limitations. Diets, Yuk! I need my comfort foods!

I’ll give some personal information before getting back to the health crisis facing America and some possible solutions. I am a morbidly obese junk food junkie. I have had a weight problem ever since my 2nd child was born. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was on Synthroid for 35 years. In spite of taking my medication regularly; I still gained weight. My dose was increased numerous times over the years and I still gained weight. Two years ago, I heard about a Dr. that was promoting a “new” treatment for what he termed “Wilson’s Syndrome.” It took me quite a while to find a Dr. that would be willing to work with me. I felt better than I had in years and started slowly losing weight without any increased activity or diet changes. (About 20 pounds over 1 year) The follow up lab work revealed the medication had changed me from being hypothyroid to being hyperthyroid. I was devastated. Fortunately, instead of placing me back on my original medication; my doctor prescribed an old time prescription that was made with natural ingredients rather than synthetic. I’ve been on Armour Thyroid for several months and have not had any weight change. Although, I hadn’t lost any more weight; at least I’m not gaining anymore and I’m no where near as fatigued as I was on Synthroid. Do you have symptoms of hypothyroid? Take the quiz: http://tinyurl.com/4dhwqc For more information for natural treatment of thyroid disorder: http://tinyurl.com/497op3

What can be done to help Americans exercise more and eat healthier? How can we help Americans take responsibility for our own physical condition? Non-nutritious foods seem to have longer shelf life and cost less than nutritious foods. Could that be part of the reason for the high obesity rate among lower and middle income Americans? Gov. Huckabee suggested allocating “food stamps” value according to the nutritional value of foods. Should empty calorie foods (soft drinks, candy, cookies, cakes, etc.) be paid for with tax dollars at all? Should a “sin” tax be placed on junk foods similar to that on cigarettes and liquor; with the tax money going toward helping with the added cost for government funded healthier foods and healthcare? Natural vitamin C has been proven to prevent Scurvy. Many nutritionally minded health care professionals believe natural vitamins and minerals can help prevent medical conditions that synthetics can’t. Therefore, shouldn’t our foods be enriched naturally rather than synthetically? Could these types of changes cause food manufacturers to include more nutritional ingredients even in things like sweets? Could prevention be more cost efficient than treatment in the long haul? Regardless, America needs to put more emphasis on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness in our schools and communities.

A friend posted a poll online to see if there was any interest to join a weight loss challenge where she set up the prize money to go for a cause we support. I looked at the newly posted poll and replied I’d vote in it if she added on more choice. She laughed and added: I’ll try to “Quit Digging Your [My] Grave with a Knife and Fork.” The weight loss competition started on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. There’s plenty of time to join us because it doesn’t end until Sept. 6, 2008. I’d like to give a special thank you to my friend, Amy, for starting the competition to help motivate me. My main goal is to eat healthier, exercise more, and lose weight, lots of weight! Please consider joining us in the HuckFIT Weight Loss Competition. http://tinyurl.com/3vu3tg Together we can become healthier one step and/or one ounce at a time.

Only One Life

I found this poem online. I don’t know who the author is.

Only One Life

Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
When this bright world would tempt me sore, When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Give me Father, a purpose deep, In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife, Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Oh let my love with fervor burn, And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone, Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one, Now let me say,”Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call, I know I’ll say “twas worth it all”;

Only one life,’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Icing on the Cake for a 2008 McCain Win

McCain has won the nomination and the Republican Party has started campaigning for the general election; which means moving toward the middle to woo Independents and Democrats. With his “maverick” record, McCain has the ability to win some by himself. He has foreign policy experience, spending restraint, and a strong military backing. He needs to decide which potential VP candidate can help him seal the deal. He needs someone with chief executive experience working across party lines accomplishing things on the GOP platform, restoring and improving things funded by the government as fiscally responsible as possible. He especially needs help with rural areas, small towns, the religious right, and the south.

Since the Democrats have been extremely successful at fund raising; he needs help there. Romney has been doing a pretty good job; but will it be enough once the nomination is clenched? The Democrat candidates have been spending massive amounts on campaigning. They have plenty of wealthy backers and 527s.

McCain may need a VP that can help with campaigning on a tight budget with lots of grassroots support. If Obama wins the Democrat nomination; McCain will need a VP with good communication skills that can help promote the GOP platform message, appeals to conservative black voters, the youth voters, disgruntled union workers, and small town “bitter” religious gun toting voters. If Hillary wins the Democrat nomination; McCain will need someone that can appeal to the disgruntled black voters, the more conservative union and small town voters, and has experience fighting against the “Clinton machine.” Gov. Mike Huckabee’s record fills all of the most needed qualities plus one that isn’t mentioned often. Let me explain.

I was a Reagan Democrat and agree with Reagan, I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, they left me. What happened to “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country”? Reaganomics works. Republicans help take care of our wallets by keeping taxes low enough that employers can afford to pay employees and both are willing to work harder to gain more. Many of our party are looking for the next Reagan. There will never be another Ronald Reagan. But, I believe Gov. Huckabee has many similarities and I’d like to point out some of them.

  • Strong on the pro-life issue
  • Supports a pro-life amendment
  • Strong on gun rights
  • Attacked by Republican elites
  • Democrats think he’d be easy to beat
  • Promotes helping small business owners
  • Promotes changing our tax system to encourage productivity
  • Promotes personal responsibility
  • Reaching out to the blue collar workers (the middle class majority)
  • Communicates well explaining why he believes what he believes
  • Believes the state is responsible for its parks, schools, roads, etc.
  • Willing to raise state taxes for fiscally responsible state funded responsibilities
  • Wants to leave the place better than it was before he came
  • Promotes stronger military
  • Promotes border security
  • Promotes US sovereignty
  • Against LOST, the Law of the Sea Treaty
  • Supports Israel
  • Believes Judges appointed are a major decision
  • Has a good sense of humor
  • Worked as radio sportscasters
  • Former Governor
  • Listens to “we the people”
  • Willing to serve the people rather than rule the people
  • Got things done even if they didn’t do it like everyone else
  • Strong leader
  • Wants to run a clean campaign concentrating on the issues
  • Willing to seek God’s help

McCain’s and Huckabee’s strengths overcome the weaknesses of the other. A McCain/ Huckabee ticket can help bring Reagan Democrats and Independents back to the Republican Party. McCain/Huckabee and their grassroots support could make a Reagan like GOP victory possible.

Can Romney and Huckabee Supporters Call a Truce?

An article posted on Real Clear Politics by “The Huckabee Alliance” hit home. http://tinyurl.com/5vhr5r I too have been used as a “pawn” during the elections. Partly due to genetics (hot-headed Irish mixed with bull-headed German) and partly due to my upbringing. I was taught to stand up and fight for what I believe in, defend people I care about, and the best defense is a good offense. I took several of the candidate match quizzes and matched best with Gov. Huckabee on every one I took. (Except for the one on foxnews.com that didn’t have Gov. Huckabee’s true stands on some of the issues) When Gov. Romney started his kneecap campaigning against MY candidate and the majority of the media joined him; the fight was on. I am still boycotting FOXNEWS and the “conservative” talk show hosts for their biased reporting and opinions; and because they’ve since begun a joint effort of promoting Gov. Romney as Sen. McCain’s VP.

Gov. Huckabee has enough good qualities; I shouldn’t have to point out the qualities I find lacking in other candidates for the VP position. If Sen. McCain doesn’t choose a consistent moral values conservative as his VP; I can’t vote GOP with a clear conscience. Will I do something as stupid as Ms, Coulter and support a liberal Democrat? NO WAY! With the revival of the “civil war” in the Democrat Party and the “anyone but McCain” discontented Republicans, there should be lots of help with starting a massive write-in campaign; if we didn’t organize soon enough to have “none of the above” placed on the ballots.

From now on, I will do my best to avoid kneecapping the opposition. If Gov. Romney’s supporters and Gov. Huckabee’s supporters can call a “truce” on the kneecapping; we can all post reasons why we think our candidate is best choice for Sen. McCain’s VP rather than why the other candidate is bad. This will be hard to do if both sides aren’t willing. I know my Irish temper will get in the way if Gov. Huckabee or we supporters are continued to be bashed and used as “pawns.”

Watch for my reasons for believing Gov. Huckabee is the best choice for Sen. McCain’s VP on my blog in the near future.

Was Huckabee’s “Jab” Really Aimed at Democrats?

After hearing the implied “jab” in context in which Huckabee was discussing the contrast in the election between the Democrats and Republicans; is it possible the “jab” was aimed at the Democrats rather than Gov. Romney? Could Elizabeth Holmes have an ulterior motive for trying to stir up more conflict between Gov. Huckabee’s and Gov. Romney’s supporters in her Wall Street Journal article?

“Slouched in one of the two captain’s chairs, Huckabee used his time with the press to take a thinly veiled jab at another former opponent, Mitt Romney. “You know for me, the fortunate thing is I don’t have to go around and unsay anything I said during the campaign,” he said, earning another chuckle from McCain.” http://tinyurl.com/3h4r5o

Is there some reason Ms. Holmes can’t stand seeing Sen. McCain and Gov. Huckabee getting along so well? Did Ms. Holmes read about the New York Times Magazine article in which the infamous question asked by Gov. Huckabee with an “innocent voice” being up for an award? http://tinyurl.com/554plk Could she be thinking if she could cause trouble in the GOP she might receive an award, too? You decide.

The CNN article “Rivals no more” has a link to a video almost 11 minutes long. http://tinyurl.com/3uln5u Watching the video you can see how comfortable and relaxed Sen. McCain and Gov. Huckabee are together. Sen. McCain’s comment about Gov. Huckabee at the beginning of the video sums it up. “We are friends; we became friends on the campaign trail.”

Here is part of the interview so you can evaluate the “jab” in context to help with your decision. I did my best to transcribe it correctly from the CNN video.

Huckabee: “The main thing is getting Sen. McCain elected. That’s what’s important for all Republicans who care about the future of the country. There’s going to be a real stark contrast between Sen. McCain and either of the Democrats. We’ve got to make sure that America makes the right decision in Nov. and that’s what’s important.”

Reporter: “Do you expect to be on the road for Sen. McCain?”

Sen. McCain: “Yes!” [Laughter]

Reporter: [inaudible question]

Huckabee: “Absolutely! We’ve conversed and our staff has talked to Sen. McCain’s staff. We hope to be able to help in a number of areas; wherever we’re called upon to be helpful you bet. Because I think this election is a pivotal seminal election in America. And the contrast is going to be stark and significant. This isn’t a matter of degrees. It will be a very different direction America will take depending on who the next president is. As a result to that; it’s going to matter a lot to us. You know for me the fortunate thing is I don’t have to go around and unsay anything I said during the campaign. We had a very civil relationship. I thought it was significant that I felt like the two of us that ran frankly the most civil campaigns in the entire Republican primary ended up the last two on our feet. I hope that’s a sign of things to come in terms of the type of campaign. Sen. McCain is clearly running that type of campaign throughout the process as evident by his actions and comments this week. I think it goes well for the long term future of the Republican Party the manner in which he’s carrying the overall effort.” http://tinyurl.com/3uln5u

Can you imagine Clinton and Obama teaming up on the campaign trail after the primaries are over? It will be almost impossible for me to think of them as friends after one of them knocks the other out.

After hearing Huckabee’s “jab” comment in context; I wish we could see or hear the “innocent voice” question in context, too. We’ll probably never know the real reason the author of the NYT Magazine article decided to include it. But, it certainly accomplished stirring up trouble in the GOP and helped knock out the religious right’s champion during the primary elections.

Grow Up and Get Over It

It never fails. If comments are allowed anywhere Huckabee or Romney are mentioned; some Romneyite always calls Huckabee and/or his supporters bigots. They refuse to believe some people ruled out Romney for president or vice-president because of his liberal record or because others believe someone else is better qualified.

Not all conservatives follow their leaders like a flock of stupid sheep. That is good, because Romney was able to literally buy the support of some religious leaders by sending sizeable donations and/or chairs with a note stating there would always be a place at his table. Many were shocked to see their leaders sell out so easily.

Those that did their own research have also been enlightened to media bias among both liberal and conservative “experts” during this election season. The obvious bias would be laughable if it weren’t for the fact that some followers actually fell for their “reporting” and opinions.

The childish crying of religious bigotry by Romney and his supporters is laughable. It is hilarious that they get “offended” by a question about the Mormon religion. News Flash: Asking questions from someone that knows more about something than you do is not bigotry. If Mormons truly have a problem with what their religion teaches; why don’t they change religions to one they can accept and defend? Haven’t media “experts” asked questions about Obama staying in a church that taught things “normal” people don’t agree with or find offensive? Many also said Kerry’s flip flops were a good enough reason not to vote for him. Yet, they “endorsed” Romney or try to promote him as a “good“choice for VP. That is either a joke or hypocrisy.

If Huckabee received over 90% of the evangelical votes; then Romneyites would have a justifiable reason to call his supporters bigots. Evangelical Christians voted for Romney almost as equally as they did any other candidate. Romney received extremely high percentages of Mormon votes. (Over 90% in some areas) Yet, it’s the Romneyites that scream “religious bigotry.” Sad to say, there was some religious bigotry involved during the elections on both sides. Supporters on both sides need to grow up and get over it. I wish ALL the religious bigots would keep there bigotry to themselves. Some of us don’t want to hear it. Besides, we’re on to your excuses

McCain’s VP Choice Should Be a Major Decision

According to our Constitution and the Amendments to it; bigotry against religion, race, and gender was a thing in America’s past. This election cycle appears to have revived it. On the Republican side; some claim bigotry against the Mormon religion contributed to Romney’s loss and some think bigotry against evangelical Christians contributed to Huckabee’s loss. The Democrats are on the verge of dividing their party and the country over racism and/or gender.

Sen. McCain’s choice for his running mate should be a major decision. With the division among the Democrats; the right choice could practically guarantee a victory. McCain needs a consistent moral values VP to appease those on the religious right. From things I have read, they are the ones that have a history of deciding elections. I would also suggest that Sen. McCain chooses someone not currently holding or potentially obtaining an important seat in Government. We cannot afford to take the risk of losing any seats.

The Democrats have reportedly out raised Republicans by a huge margin. That deficit may never be recovered. McCain is considering relying on Gov. funding. With such limited resources; how can he possibly compete with the Democrats in November? In spite of the potential self destruction of the Democrat Party, McCain needs help.

If Obama wins the nomination, there is a potentially extremely high turnout among blacks and young people. He has been successful in reaching astronomical numbers for both. McCain will need some help in the south and among the youth vote. I’ve read that many of the youth actually claim to be conservative. I’ve heard that recent science findings are making informed youth pro-life. A VP candidate that can reach the youth voters could be a real asset.

The right VP choice will also be able to help reach the forgotten middle class. We are the majority of Americans. We need someone that knows what we’re going through; yet still believes in the American dream. Someone that believes we are capable of making it on our own without a socialistic government trying to do it for us.

Romney has stated openly that he’d love the VP position. He appears to be “campaigning” for it. I don’t know how to research to see if he has been successful in bringing lots of money to the McCain campaign. But, according to the GOP elites, Romney is the “money man.” If he can’t do it; it probably can’t be done. Money is important; but can Romney deliver votes from the religious right, southerners, blacks, middle class, and the youth?

If McCain has to campaign during the General Election on limited funds; how can he get the most votes per dollar spent? According to many various articles and blogs; it appears McCain did well with votes earned by dollars spent during the primary election cycle. From what I’ve read; he came in 2nd to only one candidate. Because of his huge grassroots support; Huckabee was the candidate that received the most votes per dollar spent.

It would be nice to see Sen. McCain pick someone he actually likes, admires, and could enjoy campaigning and hopefully working with. Sen. McCain would be smart to think of all of these things when he makes his decision. The future of our country depends on it.

Are Our Leaders Leading Us in the Right Direction?

During this political season we have seen many leaders leading in different directions. After teaching us to research the candidates and vote according to our principles and values; many of them forgot those teachings to back candidates they thought would help the economy, protect their wallets, or be able to beat the opponents rather than a candidate that consistently stood for the values they claimed to hold dear. Even some religious leaders sold out. Isaiah 56:11Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.” To their credit, some that were leading wrongly have admitted it and changed their ways.

The religious leader that has received most of the media attention for leading wrongly is Sen. Obama’s former pastor, Rev. Wright. God does not give those that are lead in the wrong direction a free pass. Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.” Isaiah 9:16 “For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

After all we’ve learned this political season; we can no longer blindly follow our leaders or the media trusting they’ll lead us in the right direction. We MUST learn to research for ourselves. It has been taught that the word Bible is an acronym for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. We need to study the “fine print” of our “eternal contract.”

2 Timothy3:16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Matthew 22:36-40Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Since the “great” commandment and the “2nd” commandment were not listed in the 10 Commandments; why did Jesus put more emphasis on them? Do you think people were ignoring the rest of the law and concentrating on just 10 Commandments even back then? Has your “spiritual leader” even TOLD you those verses are in the books of the law?
Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”

Many English translations do not use the word “study” in 2 Timothy 2:15. Who would be more likely not to want the word “study” used; God or Satan? I’ve even been told some “spiritual leaders” tell their followers not to read the Scriptures themselves because they wouldn’t be able to understand it. The Bible says:

2 Timothy 2:15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 “And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”

Deuteronomy 11:18-20Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:”

John 5:39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

In the Sermon on the Mount; Jesus said:

Matthew 5:17-19Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

I am not a legalist that believes we get to heaven by obeying the law. The Bible tells us the law was written to teach us we can’t get to heaven by being good; but by faith in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:24-26Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 5:8-9But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Does that give us permission to forget the law and do what ever we want?

Romans 6:15-16What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

James 4:17Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

Some think believing is all you need to do. What does the Bible say?

John 3:13-18And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

James 2:19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

Luke 13:3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

We must first believe, then repent (turn from our wicked ways) then receive the gift God has given us by accepting His Son, Jesus Christ.

I John 1:7-9But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Romans 10:13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Also, we need to do our best to follow what Jesus told the adulteress AFTER her accusers left. Many people didn’t know there is more to the story.

John 8:4-11They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

God did not create a bunch of robots. He gives each of us the choice to do things His way or pay the consequences. Search the Scriptures yourself. Your eternity depends on it.
